In DMD you should have unlocked almost all your abilities. Thats why on DMD this game shows it true potential, you face tough as nails enemies and you use all your techniques to beat them. To beat DMD you have to know your chars well and being able to perform advanced combos (oh well, or brute force it with gold gems). Yeah they did not really go nearly as all out as they could have, love or hate DMC that game got level design down perfect. I had a feeling that This game would be better at an unlocked difficulty, heres hoping.but am finding it hard to get through it once. Still, I agree about V being annoying (even though I love Shadow) and some levels being a bit bland compared with DMC4.

Yes, the level design was more innovative and creative in DmC, though no one really asked for or needed Devil May Cry to be a platformer. Whereas what people tend to like and compliment most about Devil May Cry is the gameplay, which is infinitely more complex, stylish, and skill based compared to what DmC had to offer. Your criticisms are aimed at the level design, music, hair color, enemy placement on normal difficulty, and the maturity of the humor.
